Clients and class participants nearly always raise one
crucial question: "How do I attract traffic to my
website?"
Many successful Internet marketers skip the expensive,
complicated SEO (Search Engine Optimization). They use
techniques like article marketing. If you'd like to learn
more about article marketing, I recommend Connie Green's
website and blog: http://budurl.com/goconnie
But articles are just the beginning. Here are 3 proven ways
to attract not just traffic, but targeted traffic.
(1) Hold a teleseminar. If you're qualified to offer a
product or service, you have information to share.
For example, one class participant has a site that sells
gift baskets for all special occasions. She could offer a
seasonal teleseminar on last-minute gift-giving. Or she
could team up with a time management coach to talk about
saving time while sending customized gifts.
As you choose a topic, you may realize you have potential to
create a new information product or even a new line of
business. The owner of the gift basket site is sitting on a
gold mine. She created a successful site, starting with no
Internet or sales background. How did she do it? Well,
hopefully one day she will hold a teleseminar to share.
When you hold a teleseminar, you don't have to charge. But
you do have to capture names and email address of attendees.
If they're interested in your class, they're very likely to
be interested in you, your services and your ezine.
(2) Get interviewed on radio. With so many marketers hosting
BlogTalk radio shows, chances are you can get interviewed.
Getting that first interview (and making the most of it) is
your challenge.
You will need to be prepared with 10 questions, a topic and
a brief bio. Your host will rarely invest time learning
about your product or service. You (or your assistant) will
do the work and show up, ready to be interviewed.
You also need to know how to participate in these programs.
You have to open up and talk -- but not too much. You can
never say, "I have no idea how to answer this question." You
can't freeze (especially on a phone interview, where there's
no one standing by to offer you a glass of water or
something stronger).
That's why I'm supporting Lorraine Cohen's program. She
knows her stuff and she's one of the "good people" on the
Internet.

(3) Last but not least: If you've been following my ezine,
you knew I would encourage you to write book reviews. In
some markets, there's no better way to attract targeted
traffic to your website - if you know how to use the system.
Amazon doesn't pay for reviews. The rewards come when
readers see your reviewers and realize you are the perfect
person to solve their problem.
You probably won't have a lot of competition in your niche.
Most people don't know how to do this (and even fewer
actually implement the program).
And...please email me when you write your first (or next)
book review or appear on your first (or next) radio show!
I want you to be wildly successful. But be warned: these
techniques take a lot of work, but they're so much fun
they're addictive.
